Fox 8 meteorologist Alexis Walters recently visited Kirtland Middle School for a Weather School session, where students showcased their knowledge of weather vocabulary and concepts. Walters covered a range of weather topics with the students, who impressed her with their understanding and ability to discuss weather terms and definitions. To catch the segment and see these bright students in action, visit Fox 8's website, here.

Celebrating Partnership: Successful Mobile Dentistry Event at Fairport Harbor Schools
We are thrilled to celebrate the recent success of the mobile dentistry event hosted at Fairport Harbor Exempted Village Schools! Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Fairport Harbor, Perry Local Schools, Ohio Dental Outreach, and our ESCWR team, 48 students received vital preventative dental care and education.

A special thank you goes to Mrs. Heidi Elmore, who recognized the need for this program early in our planning phase, and to Fairport Harbor Superintendent Mr. Bill Billington, for graciously hosting the event and extending it to Perry Local students. The teamwork demonstrated by all involved ensured that every student had the chance to receive care.

Highlights of the event include:
  • Preventative services provided to 48 students
  • Fluoride varnish for 48 students and sealants for 27 students
  • Referrals for follow-up care for 26 students
  • On-site restorative care for one student
  • Grants covering free dental services for six uninsured students
Students left with dental reports, toothbrushes, and smiles, making this event both impactful and uplifting. Hosting this in-school event removed barriers for families, underscoring our collective commitment to student health and well-being.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this successful event—your dedication exemplifies the power of partnership in serving our students and communities!
