Who: Parents, Guardians, and School Staff
What: Social media and internet usage have become an everyday part of life for most students but as adults, it can be overwhelming to understand the risks and rewards faced by young people. During this presentation, teachers and families will learn about the benefits of social media but also how to ensure their child is using it safely. The conversation will help adults become aware of popular social media apps and terminology, how to set realistic boundaries, provide ideas for implementing security settings and monitoring usage, identify signs of cyberbullying, and prevent sextortion.
