Due to the conclusion of current grant funding and the State of Ohio’s continued shift toward high-dosage tutoring models, ESCWR will not be implementing after-school Traditional Tutoring programs at Hale Road or Cardinal Local Schools during the upcoming school year.
ESCWR recognizes the value these programs have provided to students, families, and school communities over the past several years. While this decision was not made lightly, ESCWR remains committed to supporting students and families across Lake, Geauga, and Portage Counties.
The ESCWR team will continue to explore future grant opportunities and partnerships that may allow tutoring services to continue or evolve in new ways. Summer programming for 2027 has not yet been determined, and additional information will be shared after the first of the year as funding opportunities and program options are reviewed.
ESCWR is deeply grateful to the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation for its generous grant support over the past several years. Their investment helped make these tutoring opportunities possible and supported many students in accessing academic assistance beyond the school day.
