Students Reel in Learning at Adapted Fishing Adventure

Sixty-one students gathered at Springbrook Gardens on October 15 for Lake County’s second annual Adapted Fishing Adventure! Students from Willoughby-Eastlake, Painesville City, Fairport Harbor, Kirtland, and Madison school districts joined students from ESCWR’s SAIL program for a morning of fishing, hands-on activities, and outdoor exploration.

With guidance from the Lake County General Health District and Mentor First Responders, students practiced teamwork, built confidence, and learned about outdoor safety and wellness while connecting with nature and one another.

Made possible through a generous grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the event brought schools and community partners together to expand learning beyond the classroom. Thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible for our students!
