Recognizing the Signs of Depression & Anxiety in Youth
Who: Parents, Guardians, and School Staff
What: Since the COVID-19 pandemic, students have been facing new challenges that impact their mental health and as educators and family members, we are the first line of defense. This presentation will teach adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a student who is struggling with mood related issues. Participants will also learn how symptoms can present differently based on a student’s age, how to distinguish between typical development, and identify how to initiate a conversation about mental health with a young person. The presentation will include resources to help educators and families link with appropriate supports and community resources.
When and Where: 3 sessions, 6:00-7:00 p.m., 1/17/2024, 2/7/2024, and 3/6/2024; Virtual Events
