Breaking Tutoring Barriers, One Student at a Time



HISTORY OF PROGRAM- ESC of the Western Reserve has partnered with Martha Holden Jennings Foundation in order to keep tutoring services at no cost for families.  Martha Holden Jennings Foundation will be funding our traditional tutoring program for the 24-25 school  year! 


This brand new program seeks to remove financial and accessibility barriers for Geauga, Lake, and Portage families of students in grades seven through twelve



If you are not able to make the in-person session? No problem! 

Need some more help after asking questions during the in-person session? No problem! 

We have online sessions available later in the week!

GETTING STARTED -

  1.  Once the registration has been received, your family will receive an email confirmation with tutor biographies. Your student will be able to choose who they would like to learn from, based on when our tutors are available.

You will receive the Zoom link via email following the link submission.

You will need to be completed each week that tutoring is desired.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - 


    Who is eligible? 

    Any student (grades 7 - 12) in Geauga County, Lake County, and Portage County, Ohio. 


    How do I choose my tutor? 

    Students & families are able to choose any tutor that is listed on our tutoring website and tutors in the subject area of their need. As long as the tutor has an available appointment on their calendar, a session can be scheduled.


    Are there in-person options? 

    Bruce Cline will offer an in-person tutoring session at Cardinal Jr./Sr. High School (14785 N. Thompson Avenue, Middlefield, Ohio 44062) on Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  


    How much does each session cost? 

    Each session is FREE! This is made possible through the partnership between the ESC of the Western Reserve and the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation.

  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to strengthen a student’s confidence.
